Just ploughing through a book called the Decadent Cook Book and have come across a chapter called The Decadent Sausage where you can find recipies for such delights as

stuffed sows womb
yellow sausage
blue sausage
the tarporley hunt black pudding
west indian black pudding
andouillettes
porpoise sausage
black bear sausage

I am now moving on to a chapter called the Marquis de Sades Sweet Tooth - oh the joys of holiday reading............

WW

Some interesting items in there!!! Can I get fresh porpoise from Morrisons or will I have to used the canned?

I used to live in the West Indies - we had the local black pudding every Thursday for tea. We would go down this one street where there must have been about 20 women sitting out on the pavements, clay charcoal burner on the go (called an omigod locally cos of what you say when you drop it), and a huge pan of BPs simmering away. You brought your own (empty) ice cream tub and loaded up. Hot and spicy - fantastic.

Sounds fantastic.......

If I come across some more interesting headings I will post them.

Apart from stewed thrush, rose hip and calfs brain custard & flamingo stew nothing takes my fancy really..........reminiscent of the Fat Duck?

Must put on the shopping list............
