Cured & Smoked bones

I had a lot of meaty pork bones left over a couple of months back, so I cured and smoked them to make soups, stews and gravies. They were great.

I´m repeting the same process for the holliday season. I was ready to put the cured bones into the smoker but they came out slimmy out of the brine. Do bones exhude some kind of gellatin or have they gone bad?
