Good afternoon from Perth, West Australia.
Boxing Day here and sun is high with temp 27 C. Yesterday was a warm 36 C.
Xmas Day here is a special day for Family especially the kids. Same as everywhere else. Credit cards
stretched to the limit + 5%. Nothing like presents to get the party on the way, adults go all out to make
the day extra special for the children.
Feasting part is divided by lines of preference Hostess decided the year before. Those of us that favour the
traditional roasts meats and veg followed by the age old puddings of our Grants - consume far to much
Pork, Ham, Chicken, Lamb and Beer.
The other side of the fence are our kin that rebel against tried and true and feast on seafood of all
varieties. Remember we are in temps usually over 30 C
Most off the former are inside dinners, the later are BBQ specialists. Ha Ha sounds like war zones but we
swap and change depending on the Hosts. Either way we all honour the Day and sleep with full tummies.
Boxing Day is traditionally "Left Overs Day" and is the day that friends & neighbours are
invited to BBQ and pool parties where you take along some "left overs" you want to share.
This day is more relaxed & many a sore head is the result. The day usual is a lot longer as there are always
the board games that get pulled out after evening meal which is more "Left Overs"
Just wanted to share how we start our run up to the "New Years Day weight reduction
commitments".
Merry Xmas to the last standing soldiers on this great forum.
Long may it continue.
Our best regards and have a Great 2024.

We had a nice Christmas lunch with ham. Lots of new books to read for me. Hopefully I'll get a couple batches of beer made to start the year off right. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all. A good time was had by all here with a 3 rib roast of beef for dinner, and home made horseradish sauce, delish! Later I brought out my home made Stilton which was just right. A skill learned on this site amongst many others. Take care everyone.
