Pork & leek sausage suggestion

Postby ahm Fae glasgow » Sat Mar 30, 2019 4:33 am

Hi everyone,

I know that everyone has some leftover meat after finishing up with both grinder and their stuffer ( well at least I do ) and I was getting tired of turning it into patties. I had just finished up a batch of pork & Leek when it suddenly occurred to me that this is exactly what I was paying $4.00 for ( 18 in a pack ) when I can't get them on sale at $1.98. wait for it..... Wontons for wonton soup! I now save the leftovers from both tools and have enough to make my own. Yes, I buy the wrappers, but at the cost of the wrappers I still save a bundle based on store prices and I now have a new item that I can produce fairly cheap. As things move along I can even do pork and shrimp and quite possibly flavours I have yet to discover. Should this suggestion be helpful to others I will have done my part as a novice with a out of the box suggestion.

I just finished 85 with pork and garlic chives in them. :D
Fashionably late will be stylishly hungry.

Well here's the outcome at my end. Between what I had from cleanup and some leftover pork which I ground up I had 1045grms I put to use. The outcome was 260 wontons. 4gms in each (1tsp) and after all costs (meat, wraps, spices ) I was out a total of $11.50 including the wraps from store. Not a bad savings based on retail of 18 per pack at $4.00 each. Next time fewer wontons and make some ravioli etc. instead.
