Electric hot smoker question

I really like hot smoking, but i find it difficult to control the heat using burning wood and i don't always have the time to watch the smoker.
I would like to build an electric heated smokehouse with a cold smoke generator, but my question is i will get similar results as using hot smoke from burning wood with it?

I prefer cold smoked products as they take the flavor better, so you should be in good shape. If you are cold smoking cure #1 should be used or you can use the cold smoking attachment along with the electric heat.

You will not get the same level of smoke in the same time-scale so maybe consider cold smoking for a while before the cooking stage.
