who's On Line

Postby spudie » Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:17 am

Just a simple question, when you look down below at who's on line what does the 130 odd guests mean.
Are these all casual lurkers or hackers or are they genuine readers.
Just that the number doesn't change all that much day to day ??

I believe the guests are anybody but signed in members, which also might include bots. At 5:20 am here, there is only 20 guests at the moment.

I check this forum (or try to) everyday. Just a routine for me now.

Thanks Dan & Paul for replying, do understand that the guests are non members of our group so have less privileges etc. What is "Bot"
Honest interest as our family has been severely hit by the dreaded scammers and I'm just looking to make sure that "I'm not in someway opening " the door to them as I do copy posts complete to family especially interesting recipes and techniques. rgds Spudie Oz

This forum is all but dead now isn't it?

The main shop page dead, so i'm thinking this forum will disappear as soon as someone stops paying the rent.

It a damn shame, but true. There is such a vast amount of knowledge that will be lost if or when it does close down.

I’ll second that.
Resuming curing after a break of a few years (although I did check in periodically) and will be very sad if this forum ends :-( particularly as during those years I’ve started rearing my own pigs and sheep, and growing most of the ingredients that I put into my products. Have even been known to harvest my own salt, and grow my own sawdust!

I've not checked out this forum in a long time, so I'm partly to blame.
Just too many other things on the go.
But.. I did check back :)

I learned a lot here and hopefully this forum can keep going.
